Shimla – The Queen of the hills

Shimla is an exceedingly picturesque town. A gateway to the Spiti valley, Pabbar valley, and other amazing places beyond the Shivalik Hills, Shimla is just 130km from Make My Ride, and you can be there in 3-4 hours or so. Go grab some breakfast at the mall road or enjoy wonderful Himachali Dhaam for lunch. Take the Shimla Heritage Walk, see the Jakhu temple and more!

Manali – The Gateway to Ladakh, Lahaul and Spiti

Manali is the first stop for tourists visiting the Atal Tunnel, the Lahaul and Spiti valleys, Rohtang pass and Ladakh. An 8-hour ride from Make My Ride it is best to pick up your bike late in the evening and hit the road early, preferably around 5 AM, so that you can enjoy your stay in Manali to the max. It is best to take an additional day off and explore Manali on a 3-day ride.

McLeodganj – The abode of the Dalai Lama

Mcleodganj and Dharamshala need no introduction. Home to the Tibetan government in exile and of the Dalai Lama, McLeodganj’s waterfalls, cafes, churches, temples and monasteries have more to offer than you cover on the weekend! McLeodganj is just 250km from Make My Ride—a lovely, easy 6-hour ride.

Sangla and Chitkul

Sangla is a beautiful mountain village on the banks of the Baspa river. You can also take a 30km ride to Chitkul, the last village on the Indo-China border. Do not miss amazing views of the Kinner Kailash, Narkanda, Hatu Peak, the cantilever crossings in Kinnaur, Sarahan, Chitkul, and Reckong Peo! We recommend that you do this over 3 or 4 days at minimum.

Kasauli

Kasauli is a tiny military cantonment in the Shivalik hills around 65km from Make My Ride. You can be here in under 2 hours! The favourite weekend jaunt of people from Chandigarh, Kasauli is a beautiful hill town that is just amazing for a weekend stay! When in Kasauli, do not forget to eat sandwiches from the daily needs shop on the sunset point road, chill at the Ros Common Café, see the Manki temple at sunset, or stroll along the mall road. We guarantee that you’ll love it. Kasauli is even suitable as a day ride.

Amritsar

Amritsar is home to the holiest shrine of the Sikhs—the Golden Temple. Amritsar has more sights to see than you can think. You can see the Golden Temple, Jalliyanwallah Bagh, Hall Gate Bazaar, Durgyana Mandir, Wagah border and enjoy lip-smackingly good food Kesar da Dhaba, Kulcha at Pehelwan Kulcha or Kulcha land and much, much more! Amritsar is a 250km or a 5-6 hour ride from Make My Ride.

5-day rides

Dehradun, Mussourie, Dhanaulti

Mussourie, Dhanaulti and Dehradun have been on our favourites list forever. The doon valley (160km from Make My Ride) is beautiful, picturesque, and takes you on a hairpin-bend riddled ride to Mussourie in just 30km. Take a 60km ride through to woods to visit Dhanaulti. Enjoy local food, see the Rajpur monastery, Tapkeshwar temple, Sahastra Dhara, and enjoy grub at Rajpur road—especially at Elloras and much more! It will take you four hours to reach Dehradun and another 1.5 to hit Mussourie.
